Dimitar Dimov

Born in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria, Dimitar follows in his father Simeon Dimov's footsteps as an oenologist. He graduated from the University of Food Technologies, Plovdiv, majoring in Beverage Technology. Later, he earned a Master's degree in vine-growing, winemaking, and vine and wine sector management from AgroMontpellier and ENITAB Bordeaux, France. Holding a French national diploma of oenology (DNO), he gained experience in Languedoc, Champagne, and Bordeaux, France, as well as Marlborough, New Zealand, and various Bulgarian projects. Since 2010, he has served as an oenologist at the rapidly advancing Suvla wine cellar in the Gallipoli Peninsula, Turkey, emphasizing local and less-popular grape varieties. Additionally, he is the CEO and co-owner of Yalovo Winery near Veliko Tarnovo, focusing on reviving old local varieties and engaging in successful wine tourism. Dimitar has participated in judging competitions such as "Citadelles du vin" in France, Vinarium in Bucharest, and Vinaria in Plovdiv. In 2022, he received the "Oenologist of the Year" award from the Union of Enologists in Bulgaria.
